Description
Hamburg has had for centuries, one of the greatest overseas
harbours with commercial contacts in all the world, specially
with the Anglo-Saxon and South American countries. Hamburg
is not located directly in the coast, but on the borders
of the Elbe River and about 100 km away from the North
Sea. It is the last one of the greatest European state-cities,
signed by a liberal and democratic tradition, and became
a great mass media centre, which has obtained a third
of the Hamburger inner social product. The school was
founded on 1952, and its building is in a calm pedestrian
zone, just in downtown. Place at which it is possible
to arrive using the subway, the intercity train or the
bus.
Lodging
The school offers hotels or pensions, the school student
residence or carefully selected German families.
Academics
School offers courses of intensive type, German for
teachers and one-to-one classes, as well as preparation
for exams. There are 6 levels: Beginners, elementary
level 1 and 2, middle level 1 and 2, and superior level.
In Classes from the beginning German is spoken, using
the direct method, complemented with modern didactic
material which are designed to use the language in daily
situations, (life, house, food, trips, purchases, profession,
etc), as well as the reading and formulation of simple
texts.
Activities
The school organizes leisure activities, for the afternoons,
the evenings or the weekend, in which one can take part
freely. Accompanied by a guide provided by the school,
city visits or excursions can be made (to Berlin, Lübeck,
the Baltic Sea, and so on). These activities are included
in the price of the course, excepting the price of entrances,
trips and tour guides.
