  Description
Munich is the capital of Bavaria and is the one of the biggest cities of Germany (after Berlin and Hamburg) and is sometimes considered the true capital of Germany by its extensive and varied cultural activities. It is host of many theatres, museums, galleries and concert halls, also two universities, other institutes of education and academies, only to name a couple, the National Theatre, the German Museum (of science and technology), the Old and New galleries, the Philharmonic and the Palace of Nymphenburg. A modern building in the Sonnenstraße lodges the institute in Munich. It is located in the same heart of the city, between Sendlinger-Tor-Platz and Karlsplatz. The students have a multimedia centre, a cafeteria with newspapers and TV and an electrical piano.

The private lodging is possible, but not in family houses, since it is not very usual. It is possible to stay in one of 3 shelters (with simple and double rooms), each one just 15 minutes of the institute.

Academics
Form the fist day, German is spoken in the classroom. In agreement with their knowledge, the students are assigned to the most suitable group of learning . The allocation to a course is based on a written test and an interview. With the intention of enriching the classroom experience, the Goethe Institut uses new materials and techniques like interviews, discussions and role-plays in addition to text books.

Activities
The cultural and recreational program of the institute is based on the preferences and interests of the students. After classes they organize tours by the city (by foot or bus), visits to markets, exhibitions and museums, celebrations, pubs, etc. All sports can practice in Munich: soccer, swimming, tennis, squash, golf, ski, etc.
