Description
Freiburg has approximately 200.000 inhabitants; it is
the metropolis of the Black Forest and center of the ancient
culture of the High Rhein with the most benign weather
of Germany. It is one of the most loved cities of Germany
by its commitment with the defense of the environment
and its institutes of education (its traditional University,
its Academy of Music, its Pedagogical Institute, etc.).
The institute is located in the edge of the old city in
a building with modern facilities. The train station and
the terminal are ten minutes away, like the downtown and
the "Stühlinger", the district of the students.
The Institute has 14 classrooms, a multimedia center,
a cafeteria and a music room with piano.
Lodging
The institute offers lodging in a guests residence 10
minutes away from the building.
Academics
Form the fist day, German is spoken in the classroom.
In agreement with their knowledge, the students are assigned
to the most suitable group of learning . The allocation
to a course is based on a written test and an interview.
With the intention of enriching the classroom experience,
the Goethe Institut uses new materials and techniques
like interviews, discussions and role-plays in addition
to text books.
Activities
In Freiburg there are many options to spend the free time:
theaters, cinemas, museums, and galleries. It is possible
to participate in local trips by foot or bicycle. In the
institute there are usually celebrations, concerts and
excursions of a day or longer. Also soccer of the German
league can be seen. Those who like to practice sports
, have several options: swimming pools, a fitness center,
roller, golf, bowling, etc.
