Description
Munich, the capital of Bavaria, located on the borders
of the Isar River, is the epicenter of the communication
and high technology industry of Germany. With almost 1.3
million inhabitants is the one of the biggest cities of
Germany. Munich has 10 universities with about 81.000
students, 58 theaters, 84 cinemas, 45 museums and galleries,
between which are famous "the Neue Pinakothek",
"Alte Pinakothek" and "Pinakothek der Moderne",
3 orchestras and 2 operas, 7 beer factories, and of course
the Oktoberfest (the Beer Celebration): the greatest popular
celebration of the world, to which 7 million people go
every year (from September 20th. to October 5th.). The
school is located in Schwabing, student center of the
city.
Lodging
The school offers to the students of the intensive, superintensive
and summer courses the chance to stay with German hosts,
in single rooms. The lodging is always near the center
(the maximum distance between the school and the place
of lodging does not surpass the 30 minutes by public transport).
Academic
Throughout the year Tandem offers intensive courses (20
hours per week) and super intensive courses (24 hours
per week), except in the summer. During July and August
they organize summer courses, that include a program of
cultural activities and free time. Tandem also prepares
the students for specific tests, official certificates
like foreign language Zertifikat Deutsch and TestDaF in
the courses of exams preparation. For those who work or
have just few time, the school 4 hours per week courses.
There are also small group courses and individual classes.
Activities
The courses include a exchange with a native German spoken
and a program of cultural activities and free time (about
1 activity per month, 3 in summer). In addition excursions
by the environs of Munich (Chiemsee, Salzburgo, Dachau,
etc.) can be enjoyed, also visits to castles, strolls
by the city, cinema, theater, Biergärten, exhibitions,
sports, films, etc.).
