Description
Freiburg is located in the southwest of Germany. At France
and Switzerland it is possible to arrive in half an hour.
East of Freiburg is the Black Forest, one of the most
attractive landscapes of Germany. Freiburg has near 200.000
inhabitants. The old city, well recovered, has many small
streets and squares. Freiburg has about 25.000 students.
There are a University, institutes specialized in pedagogic
and music, and many other academies. The "Bächle"
(drains) that runs by its streets with a length overall
of 15 km are characteristic of the old city.
Lodging
The lodging offered by the institute are: shared apartments,
students residence, pension, family houses and hotels.
Academics
The main part of the intensive courses is developing in
group, that include 20 hours per week of 45 minutes. The
groups are reduced; like general rule, the number of students
is limited to 12. The participants can begin every Monday
and decide the number of weeks that wish to make. The
course can be extended at any time. The courses consist,
in agreement with their level, of: grammar, vocabulary
exercises, text pronunciation, analysis, real exercises
of oral understanding, situations, exams preparation,
etc.
Activities
The students visit together on Tuesdays the local pubs
("Stammtisch"). Wednesdays, they practice some
sport: soccer, volley, ping-pong, swimming or cycling.
Thursdays, they see films in German with subtitles in
German. Almost all Fridays, in summer, the school organizes
roasting and in winter, there are celebrations where the
students can offer a typical food of their country and
soon leave to enjoy the night life. Weekends excursions
are also made.
